EDUCATION
Gian Carlo is frequently invited as a speaker for Film Scoring and Creative Sound Design lectures, seminars, and workshops in Panama City. He also organizes his own educational events, aiming to elevate students’ skills to the highest professional level in all areas of Film Scoring, Creative Sound Design, Music Production, Music Programming, and Music Technology.
He has been a guest speaker several times at the National University of Panama and has also collaborated with Innovacine, an organization dedicated to hosting educational events on all aspects of film production. What is Creative Sound Design?
Unlike traditional sound design, which involves recreating realistic sounds for a movie scene (such as a helicopter, Foley footsteps, or environmental ambience), Creative Sound Design focuses on transforming ordinary sounds into something entirely new and imaginative. These sounds can be used as sound effects (SFX) within a film’s general sound design or even as virtual instruments for music production.

Designing synthesizer sounds from scratch

Creating never‑before‑heard percussion instruments from unconventional sources

Using simple waveforms in a synthesizer to generate unique sound effects

Transforming an existing instrument into something completely new and unrecognizable to match a film’s mood, tone, character, and story
